Introducing Brizy: Visual Page Building Reinvented

I'm very excited to present to you a new (and in my opinion) better way to build WordPress pages visually. Some of our friends and partners say is the best way, but I'll let you decide that for yourself.

You might think “another visual page builder”? There are a lot of them out there now a days right? Indeed there are but let me tell you why Brizy is the one that will change the way you think about visual page editors.

Find out why Brizy is better:

A new visual approach

Design elements redefined

Over 150 pre-made blocks and 4000 icons included

Global colors & typography

No paywalls for basic functionality

A new visual approach

12 months ago when we started to work on Brizy we've all agreed that we need to redefine what “visual editing” means. This word was (and still is) used a lot.

I think it lost its substance and it's a bit diluted.

There must be a better way to do it rather than putting all the options in remote sidebars and letting the user finding his way.

This disconnect between what you are creating and the editing options didn't sit right by us. We knew that this new approach with Brizy is to bring all the tools that matter front and center

We've designed the interface to show only what's needed for the task at hand and hide everything that's not. Simple, non-distracting.

Design elements redefined

The way design elements work in visual page builders today is very restrictive. The developer that created the element decides what it will contain (images, text, buttons) and let the user modify only those aspects.

The major problem with this way of doing things is that you force people to use your design elements the way you built them and not empower users and give them the freedom to do what they want

Here is an example on how you'll create Tabbed Content in Brizy:

This is how we've approached every design element, every feature, every detail. All focused on ease of use and with the aim to empower users and let them create what they want.

Over 150 pre-made blocks and

4000 icons included

Blocks are pre-made designs that you can add to your page, ready to be customised. This will enable you to save a lot of time by creating the main structure of your page in minutes, while also ensuring that it looks awesome.

There are over 150 blocks designed by us that you can use out of the box.

We've also included over 4000 icons in 27 categories so even the most demanding icon needs are covered.

The Icons in action:

Global colors & typography

When you want to make changes globally to your colors and fonts you don't want to go through every design element, through every page to make the change. I know I hate it when I'm forced to do that.

The technology we use under the hood plus some very smart guys from the development team enabled us to create a global style that let you have total control of your colors and fonts in a matter of clicks.

Here is how it works in action:

This is a feature you will not find in any visual page builder. Think of it as the Symbols in Sketch. I imagine this will save designers & developers a lot of time & headache when working with clients that want to try different style ideas.

No paywalls for basic functionality

It's always frustrating when you need to use a design element and discover that it is blocked behind a paywall especially if that element or functionality is something basic.

Our take is that Brizy will include all the basic functionality for FREE out of the box. You get the full experience with zero restrictions, for FREE and pay only for extended functionality and premium design if you need them.

A Pro version of the plugin will be released in 2-3 months and will contain:

extended element functionality like custom section dividers, or Snazzy Maps styles for the Map element, and so on.

integrations like MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, and so on for the form element

integrations like TypeKit for custom fonts

premium page designs (and I mean premium, this is yet another word over used in the past years, more on this maybe in another article)

More on the Pro as we approach the release date.

In the next months

The plan for the next months is to continue to improve Brizy:

Iron out any issues that may appear as well as adding more functionality and new features.

We'll start working on an API that will empower developers to extend Brizy.

Extended WordPress integration for header and footer as well as plugin elements like WooCommerce.

A Pro version is already in the works and will contain premium page design, extended functionality for certain elements and integrations like Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, TypeKit and more.

– Let us know if you need something added in and we'll definitely consider it. Submit any suggestion in the Brizy Git repository.

We have a lot of work ahead of us and I hope that with your help and support we'll make Brizy the best visual page builder for WordPress.

Conclusion

You can measure how good a visual page builder is in different ways but how we measure it is by what it brings new to the table and if it pushes the industry forward.

By these standards I think Brizy has a solid foundation to become the go to tool for creating WordPress pages right now, and entire WordPress websites in the not so distant future.
